Gear Up For Colts Football

Peyton Clinches MVP-Again

Cadillac Super Bowl XLI MVP & Coach

Well fans, it’s official, Peyton Manning is the MVP for the 2008 regular season.  He graciously accepted this accolade (again) by citing the whole team’s contribution to his success.  It wasn’t a totally unanimous decision, but it was darn close.  The voters based their choice on the fact that the Colts would not have come around this year until Peyton got his head (and most notably, his arm) into the game.  I totally agree.  Yes, without Coach Dungy, Harrison, Addai, and Wayne, the Colts would not be sitting so pretty right now.  Also, the silent strength of Saturday and the rest of the offensive line needs to be noted, as does the not-so-quiet defensive big dogs.  So, you get it, the whole team is good.  But Peyton has a very unique talent that he possesses-contagious perfection.  Could any other quarterback in the league positively “contaminate” their team like Peyton does?  I am going to vote-No.  I mean when he gets rolling, you can almost hear the trampling sound of horses galloping in the background.  Call it karma, courage under pressure, or any other good sound byte you may have heard.  So, let this be a warning to you, Playoff rivals, when you hear the hooves galloping into your town with Manning leading the charge, he may even spread Colt’s contagion into your fan base.

Thanks Mike for being the voice of reason. I am running out of reasonable responses to these guys due to my POAD (Play-Off Affective Disorder). I will soon be putting up a website and marketing my services to helps others afflicted. :)
  • Payton has had an amazing year, and I'm glad he got the MVP. Imagine the Colts without him.

The only other player I can make an arguement for is Drew Brees, but no playoffs, no chance. The guy went on a 9 game run and put his team in the playoffs. Plus he had 2 knee surgeries, 80 stitches, and still played. What more do you want?

Maybe the voters really like Sprint and Mastercard too.
